Junkyard Dogs, Inc. believes dogs to be thinking, feeling beings. They are natural
learners but need us to teach them what is acceptable in this human world in
which we have brought them. Therefore, we will strive to educate ourselves and
those around us to the most up to date, appropriate ways to teach animals. In the
process we will also strive to show what time and commitment can provide to
the relationship between canine and human. |

• Uphold mission, vision and bylaws of JYD.
• Put first and foremost, an animal’s safety and well being, at all times.
To always
approach them with kindness and respect.
• Respect each other as we endeavor to learn ourselves and educate others.
• Listen to each others views and opinion’s and discuss those views and
opinions
openly and respectfully and make sound decisions based on the animal’s
physical,
mental and emotional well being.
• Commit to the learning process that needs to exist to strengthen the
human/animal
bond.
• Adopt friendly, nonviolent, non harmful ways of communicating with
animals.
• Refrain from hurting a dog in the name of training.
• Learn how to responsibly parent your dog.
• Act as a support system to help people live up to their commitment of
having a dog or
help guide them to whatever is in the best interest of all concerned.
• Provide help, understanding and education to all people on the behaviors
and
instincts of all dogs, regardless of breed or mix.
• Actively work to decrease the gross overpopulation of homeless animals by
supporting
adoption efforts and promoting rescue/shelter dogs.
• Acknowledge that ignorance and irresponsibility along with failure to spay
and neuter
contributes to and compounds the overpopulation and creation of discarded,
abused
and homeless animals.
• That we are all responsible for and obligated to generate a change in the
the future of
these animals.
• Ask the question: “Can we conscientiously, justifiably, morally and
ethically choose to
bring, or support bringing, more animals into the world while so many are
being put to
death everyday?” |
